  • 在新加坡司法机构中,上诉庭的司法官员包括兼任法院院长的首席大法官(Chief Justice)及上诉法官(Judges of the Court of Appeal)。上诉庭是新加坡的最高法院和终审法院。
  • 在一起案件审理结束后,若控方或辩方对法庭的判决有异议,皆可提出上诉,要求上诉庭三司重新裁判。
  • 依据1993年实施的《最高法院司法权法案》(Supreme Court of Judicature Act),上诉庭拥有民事与犯罪案件的审判权,但必须由三名或以上的上诉法官在场审案,以确保案件能公平、妥善地获得处理。

ETYMOLOGY
  • In the Singapore judiciary, the judicial officers of the Court of Appeal include the Chief Justice (who serves as President of the Court) and the Justices of the Court of Appeal. The Court of Appeal is the highest court in Singapore and the court of final appeal.
  • If a plaintiff or defendant in the High Court disagrees with the court’s judgment, they can appeal to the Court of Appeal.
  • According to the Supreme Court of Judicature Act 1993, the Court of Appeal has the power to hear civil and criminal appeal cases. There must be three or more judges present at hearings to ensure that cases are dealt with fairly and appropriately.
