Refers to the movement of vehicles, ships or airplanes.

由来
  • 早在1930年代,《南洋商报》的新闻报道就出现“巴士川行”这个用法。
  • “川”是指河流,“行”有“走”和“流通”的意思,因此“川行”可用来比喻交通工具往来的流通。
ETYMOLOGY
  • As early as the 1930s, the term “巴士川行” (literally, “buses plying”) appeared in news reports in Nanyang Siang Pau.
  • “川” refers to a river, while “行” means movement and flow. Thus, “川行” is used as an analogy for the flow of vehicles.
