  • 锁轮器于1944年由美国丹佛 (Denver) 小提琴家弗兰克·马拉格 (Frank Marugg) 发明，并用于遏制当地频繁的汽车偷窃事件。
  • 根据新加坡的停车场法令 (Parking Places Act)，违规停放的车辆 (如在锁车区内停放) 可被有关部门使用锁轮器锁住轮子，使车辆无法移动。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “锁轮器” is a paraphrase of the English term “wheel clamp”.
  • The wheel clamp was invented in 1944 by violinist Frank Marugg from Denver, United States. This invention was originally meant to curb the frequent cases of car theft in his local area.
  • Under the Parking Places Act in Singapore, cars that are illegally parked (such as those parked in wheel clamp zones) may have their wheels locked by the relevant authorities using a wheel clamp, so that the cars cannot be moved.
