用以列出被告犯罪事实与详细内容的文件。

由来
  • 法官在审讯案件时，将会查证被告所面对的指控，评估案件相关的文件、录像、照片、物件、以及证人证词等的可信度，从而考虑被告是否应被判罪名成立或无罪释放。
  • 当法庭向被告宣读控状后，若被告承认犯下控状中指控的罪行，确认案情陈述书（Statement Of Facts）对案件罪行所陈述的事实，便可以选择认罪。被告也能在无须审讯的情况下，承认指控，等待法官定罪。
  • 被告定罪并被判刑后，只能就刑罚提出上诉，不能对控状提出异议或要求再次审讯。
  • 相反的，若被告对控状有任何异议，可提出抗辩，并定下日期进行案件的审讯。
例句
根据刑事程序条文，法庭在为涉及联合控状的案件判刑时，可把被告所面对的刑罚加重一倍。（《早报》，8/7/2021）
