作为新加坡海港城市的创建者,莱佛士爵士(Sir Stamford Raffles)于1822年在皇家山上盖了一栋房子。由于非常喜爱此地,莱佛士甚至要求死后与皇家山的马来皇族葬在一起。
Sir Stamford Raffles built a house for himself on Fort Canning Hill in 1822. Due to his fondness for Fort Canning Hill, he once asked to be buried there, together with the Malay royals who used to live on the hill.
