由来
  • 源自福建话的 tso pan。
  • 作为一间会馆的经理，座办除了负责行政事务，也必须明智而有礼貌地管理人际关系。他们也要有足够的社会阅历与生活经验，而且要对会馆与社团有一定的了解，并与理事会和会员
    们之间保持融洽的关系。
  • 到了20世纪末，座办这个职位在会馆里演变为执行秘书或组织秘书。这意味着他们要负责的事务增多，事务的复杂性也有变化，有别于之前所负责的事务。
  • 如今的会馆座办除了负责处理会员事务，也须参加会馆的发展工作，继续文化的传承。

ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “座办” originated from the Hokkien term tso pan.
  • As the manager of a clan association, a “座办” is called upon to not only manage administrative matters, but also manage human relations judiciously and courteously. Drawing on their knowledge and experience of clan associations, they maintain harmonious relationships with the board of directors and members.
  • By the end of the 20th century, the position of manager in clan associations had evolved into something more akin to an executive secretary or organising secretary. They were put in charge of additional duties and more complex matters.
  • Today, besides handling members’ affairs, the manager must also participate in the development of their clan association to ensure that cultural heritage is passed on to the next generation.
