• In 2010, the Speak Good English Movement was launched with the tagline “Get it Right” to remind people to use the English language correctly. A scientist at 3M originally wanted to develop a strong adhesive, but unexpectedly invented a glue that could be peeled off repeatedly without losing its adhesiveness. Meanwhile, another scientist in the company who was practicing with his church choir was tired of the bookmarks in his hymn book always falling off. He wanted a bookmark that could be stuck and re-stuck without damaging the pages of the hymn books. After the two scientists began collaborating, 3M was able to develop the post-it notes that are now widely used worldwide.
