释义

名词

加了糖的无奶黑咖啡。

DEFINITION

Noun

Black coffee, or coffee without milk, with sugar added.

由来
  • “咖啡”是“coffee”的音译,而“乌”在福建话中指黑色, 即“black”的意译。
  • 在新加坡人的日常口语中,一般将咖啡乌称为“kopi-o”。 Kopi 即马来语中的“咖啡”一词,o 则是标注了福建话和潮州话中“乌”的读音。
ETYMOLOGY
  • “咖啡” is the transliteration of the English word “coffee”, while “乌” means “black” in the Hokkien dialect..
  • In everyday speech, “咖啡乌” is usually called “kopi-o”. Kopi is the Malay word for coffee, and “o” is the way “乌” is pronounced in Hokkien and Teochew.

例句
和附近食阁或咖啡店一杯咖啡乌要价至少一元的价格相比,五毛钱咖啡乌便宜了一 半,因此吸引了附近的居民光顾。(《联合早报》,19/3/2019)
SAMPLE SENTENCE
