由来
  • 源自福建话和潮州话的 Teh-O。
  • Teh 为福建话和潮州话 “茶” 的音译，一般指加了鲜奶或炼乳的茶。茶乌则是指不加奶的茶。
  • 所谓的西洋红茶主要指从斯里兰卡（Sri Lanka）进口的茶叶。红茶的英语名称为 “black tea”。因此，茶乌的乌是福建话和潮州话黑（black）的意译。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “茶乌” comes from the term teh-o in the Hokkien and Teochew dialects.
  • Teh is the transliteration of “茶” in the Hokkien and Teochew dialect, and generally refers to tea with fresh milk or condensed milk added. “茶乌” (teh-o) refers to tea with no milk added.
  • English black tea mainly refers to tea leaves imported from Sri Lanka. The “乌” in “茶乌” is a paraphrase of the word “黑” (black) in the Hokkien and Teochew dialect.
